Tube socks make just perfect belly bands. I have known this for years, but never used them, as I have a stash of elaborated-, expensive-, custom hand sewn belly bands.
Tube socks are inexpensive, super absorbent, odorless, wash/dry super fast. Better than what I ever bought for my boys in the 11 years I am raising Papillon dogs.
